Lake Superior
Looking at Lake Superior out onto Artist's Point, Grand Marias, Minnesota. A bit of fog in the morning light.
Taking a closer look that same morning.
Sea gulls on shore
Lots of sky and water
Clouds and light

Impressions of Prince
Cherrywood is a Minnesota company that creates hand dyed fabrics and they put on this Prince Challenge in 2018. It was displayed at the Rochester Quilt Show and Conference in June 2019. Here's a quote from Cherrywood's website:
"We apply our privately designed line of colors to high quality fabrics
to offer you the best product for your creative needs. The hand dyeing
process we’ve perfected over our 30+ years produces a beautiful
tone-on-tone texture that reads as a solid, but has depth and variety
that will never be replicated by mass-production. Cherrywood is proudly
made in the U.S.A. by women who sew, create and dye a little every day." Go to Cherrywood to find out more or order fabrics today.
Twenty facts you may not know about Prince.

River Walks
It's a little windy on this walk.
The river has been very high with all the the snow and rains of the spring. The earth is still so saturated.
Usually there is land between the tree and the chairs--a bit more than that little strip of sand.
The wagon bridge
In previous years we could walk under the bridge and come out on land on the other side. Now it is still filled with water.
When the water goes down a bit more, we'll go paddling our kayaks all around this area. For now I'm happy to walk over here and check out how the water and plants are doing.

Minnesota Quilt Show 2019 Rochester
The Minnesota Quilt Show was last week in Rochester, Minnesota. I'm an art quilter that is working to get back into her art. I went to the show last week to be inspired and take in the beauty of these amazing artists.
Debbie Boyles inspired by a photo she took on the Lennon Wall in Prague and the song "Imagine," by John Lennon.
Fun quilts that take inspiration from music. Hmmmm, it gives me some ideas. More art coming soon.
Piece by Piece by Peg Lindberg
The Minnesota Contemporary Quilters' 2019 Challenge was Songspiration. A few of my favorites are shown here with the artist's name and inspiration..
Moon Rise over Lake Superior by Mimie Pollard

Silly Times in the Summertime
Kinsley peeking under the chair arm with Norris
Abby took these pictures of us. Here we had applied the henna to our hair; we put on a plastic bag and a towel over the big mess. We had it wait a bit for the color to apply. We came over to show Norris.
We had to get Abby in the picture fun with a selfie.
See the strand of henna--orange color in Kinsley's hair?
Norris is under there some where.
Did you notice there are no pictures of Tara? Yup, she ran away. Under the couch and then down the stairs into the lower level. Maybe another time. If you haven't met Tara yet, check out Tara and Norris here.
More art making and fun with Kinsley and Abby in the future.
