Wildflowers and Grasses

 













This is my prairie front yard in Winona, Minnesota.  This is when the butterfly weed and pale purple coneflowers, echinacea pallida are blooming.  The yellow coneflowers are echinacea paradoxa.

I'm creating a wall art quilt that will feature wild grasses and flowers.  I took a trip out to Prairie Moon Nursery to see some wildflowers growing in mixed plantings and take some pictures.

The light on this afternoon was interesting--sometimes sunny and other times cloud covered.
